Word of the Day: Ruminate

Today’s word is “ruminate.”

Me asked Monster Sister, “You still mad about what the lady said in the grocery store?”
“No!” she said. Then, she slammed her door in my face.
Me opened the door again. “Then, why did you eat five Pop Tarts?” Me’s sister only eats Pop Tarts when she is very upset.
“I’m ruminating!” she shouted. “So, leave me the BLEEP alone.” Me’s sister not allowed to swear, so she says “BLEEP” instead.
“What does ‘ruminate’ mean?” I ask.
“Why don’t you ruminate over it, and think about it yourself,” she said.
Me thinks me’s Monster Sister don’t know what the word means, so me decide to look it up in the dictionary.

“Ruminate” means “to reflect deeply on a subject.” It means to think about something over and over and over and over again. Me wonders what Monster Sister is ruminating about.

Me thinks ruminate would make a good name for a superhero. If me’s a superhero, me would call myself “The Ruminator.” Me would be better than all other superheros and villains, because me would have thought of everything. Me could never be beaten.
